Chapter 8. A Tour of Our Collective Toolbox
Every engineer needs tools to solve problems, and with firewalls there is no exception. Thanks to the wonders of open source development, there is a tremendous array of tools at your disposal to help test, debug, understand, and diagnose virtually any firewall problem. The purpose of this chapter is to review and present the tools that we use in this book to help identify and solve firewall problems. We have also included some other tools that we do not directly reference but should be of use.
