Overcoming resistance to monitoring and evaluation

The best organizations routinely plan, implement, evaluate, and learn from evaluation. That is certainly the reason they became the best organizations – and the biggest. Others fail to evaluate and fail to learn. Why? Reasons given range from “We already know what to do” to “We don’t have funding for it.” Those who don’t conduct ongoing, honest evaluations will pay a serious penalty – for themselves, their beneficiaries, and their donors.
