WHEN IT’S DARKEST
BACK IN HIS ROOM, Ethan was regretting scheduling three calls in one day. After the meeting with the whole 10K team and the follow-up call with Jenna, he wasn’t sure he had the presence of mind to pull off another one-on-one. The conversation with Bob had helped a little, but as the afternoon wound down, Ethan found himself wishing he had scheduled his call with Dom for the next morning. But what was done was done, so Ethan clicked “connect,” and the view of his CTO sitting in his Minneapolis office blinked into view.
“Hey boss. How’s the knee?”
Ethan replied with the usual reassurances—his knee really did feel much better ...
