Searching for People on Tumblr
With a little bit of poking around on Tumblr, you’re virtually guaranteed to find at least one other person you know who’s already part of the Tumblr community.
Finding people using your address book
There are a few different ways you can search for people on Tumblr, but perhaps the easiest way is to start with your Gmail or Yahoo! address book. To find out if anyone you already know is on Tumblr in your Gmail or Yahoo! address book, follow these steps:
1. Open the Tumblr Lookup page in your browser at www.tumblr.com/lookup

You can also access this page by clicking the Following button on the Dashboard sidebar, and then selecting the People You Know tab at the top of the page.
2. Click the icon for the e-mail account you’d like to access.
Current support is limited to Gmail and Yahoo! e-mail accounts.
3. In the new browser window or tab that opens, sign in to your e-mail account by entering your e-mail address/ID and password.
If you’re already signed in to your e-mail account, skip ahead to Step 4.
Your browser may prompt you to save your password. If you’re on your own computer, that’s probably fine. If, however, you’re using a public computer or a computer that you share with others, you may choose not to have the browser remember your password.
4. Tumblr then requests permission for you to allow access to your e-mail account’s contacts. Click the Allow Access or Agree button to proceed.
