The basics of design organization
2.1 Practical design
Set design involves a shrewd combination of a sensitive imagination and a very down-to-earth outlook. Although staging is the fabric of illusion it must, above all, follow very practical lines. Design often has to meet a number of conflicting requirements, and at times these can take much patience and ingenuity to resolve.
The design effort involved in staging any production will depend on its size and complexity. Here we shall take a look at typical conditions that can be found in a television/video production.
