All right, Chapter 1 brings you up to speed to some degree about setting up a Twitch account and how to join the community. As you’re poking around in this book, you’re wanting to know more. Namely, you want to stream. So in this chapter, I explain those early, simple steps.
Twitch is like any creative endeavor you pursue: It’s an investment, based on how passionate you feel, and streaming studios come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and price tags. If hopping on Twitch is something to pass the time, then keep your setup basic. A modest setup with little to no investment — the biggest purchase being a gaming console — is not only reasonable but common. If, on the other hand, you find yourself tapping into a hidden talent for improvisation and inspiration, you might want to upgrade.
