With your first few streams from your console under your belt, you’ve arrived to the wonderful world of Twitch. It’s an incredible community. For me, streaming on Twitch is like stepping back in time to the early days of podcasting. There’s a genuine, supportive network of like-minded creative types out there, either sharing their love and passion for a particular video game or social cause, or exploring a topic of discussion or self-improvement, and they’ve invited the world to join them on their voyage of discovery and achievement.
Like podcasting, people approach Twitch from various disciplines. Hop from one channel to another and you’ll see streamers coming at their game or creative outlet of choice differently. There’s nothing wrong with any of these approaches to streaming. Yes, Twitch has rules on what you can and cannot stream, but that’s a different matter altogether. Deciding how you stream is strictly up to you. That includes when you stream and how you let people know you’re going live.
