I’ve said repeatedly that you really don’t need a “stream machine” for Twitch. If you have a PlayStation or an Xbox, you’re ready to go. Introducing an external computer, though, allows you a little more interaction with your Chat. (Read more in Chapter 7.) And interaction with your Chat is always good, as Twitch is not only about your game but about your community.

Working with a PC-driven stream makes it easier to manage Chat, and you can add more interactive features to your stream. You’ll have artistic freedom with your stream, and you can get creative with stream-friendly templates that add a lot of polish and pizazz to your channel. And that’s our plan throughout this chapter: giving your stream a unique, signature look and adding personal touches.
