Ten Tweets to Send Today
Getting started on anything new is hard. We get it. Twitter can seem tricky or mysterious simply because you don’t know quite how to begin to get yourself up and running. In this chapter, we suggest ten basic Tweets you can send right now to get on your feet.
Say Hello
You can try it now, if you want to. Just pull up any tweeting interface and write
Hello, world!
“Hello, world” is an old inside joke that comes to us from the world of computer programming. The idea is that when you’re first learning to write software, simply getting a device to display the words Hello, world is a good starter project.
Why not approach your Twitter account with the same sense of simplicity? You have to start somewhere. Say hello. Yes, just hello is enough, and hello, world specifically might make someone chuckle. Be sure to add whatever else you might want to add after that, but why not just start by saying hello?
Especially for your first few Tweets, it’s totally fine to just acknowledge that your account is in the awkward early stages of just getting started.
Even when you’re tweeting on a regular basis, it’s okay to work in some kind of a greeting here and there. Some like to share a beautiful or inspiring photo of the sunrise and simply write “Good morning.” Laura likes ...
