System Requirements
Make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements listed in this section. If your computer doesn't match up to most of these requirements, you may have a problem using the contents of the CD.
For Windows 9x, Windows 2000, Windows NT4 (with SP 4 or later), Windows Me, or Windows XP:
PC with a Pentium processor running at 120 Mhz or faster
At least 96MB of total RAM installed on your computer; for best performance, we recommend at least 128MB
Ethernet network interface card (NIC) or modem with a speed of at least 28,800 bps
A CD-ROM drive
Note
The Windows requirements for using this CD differ from the Linux requirements because the Windows requirements apply only to installing and using selected Open Source applications found on the CD, while the Linux requirements apply to running the entire Linux operating system.
For Linux:
PC with a Pentium processor running at 90 Mhz or faster; for best performance, we recommend a Pentium III, Pentium 4, or AMD equivalent running at 700 Mhz or better
At least 96MB of total RAM installed on your computer; for best performance, we recommend at least 256MB
Ethernet network interface card (NIC) or modem with a speed of at least 28,800 bps
