A man stands before an ocean, looking out, in wonder about life.

I stood before the five iridescent portals. They blinked on and off like the stars I'd seen in space. I wore all of the mementos I'd received on my journey: Karine's polka-dotted tie to remind me that success begins with getting out of my comfort zone, the sandals the boy gave me so I could remember to tread lightly on my perceptions, the Springsteen tee shirt from Jean to keep me open-minded and accepting, and the blue jeans from Elyse to help me remember that I was still learning and growing. In my hand, I held Greg's magnifying glass to remember to share myself with no holding back. Finally, on my head was my treasured fisherman's hat, as a reminder that we can live the reality of our choosing.

I moved closer, and the portals began to shake. They hummed in unison with power. I could feel energy building. Portals one and five began moving slowly toward portals two and four, until they merged with them. Now there stood only three portals, still flashing, brighter than I'd ever seen them.

As if it was being absorbed, the middle portal began to fade as the other two grew in intensity, both in brightness and sound. These two portals seemed to encompass all facets of the other five, but they were unique unto themselves. They had a quality that was not at all dream-like, and I knew I was awakening from my lifelong dream.
