Chapter 7. Working with Database Objects

In this chapter we discuss the various objects that may exist in your database, such as tables, indexes, views, sequence objects, and stored procedures. We also describe the different data types supported by DB2. This chapter is closely related to Chapters 8, 9, and 10. Chapter 8, The DB2 Storage Model, explains the implementation and manipulation of several of these objects. Chapter 9, Leveraging the Power of SQL, explains how to work with these database objects using the SQL language, and Chapter 10, Mastering the DB2 pureXML Support, discusses how to work with XML documents in DB2.
