Identifying, using and managing nonverbal communication is an important aspect of emotional intelligence. Facial expressions, posture, touch etc. are all emotionally driven. Nonverbal messages can create, for example, a sense of interest, trust and empathy between people or they can generate fear, confusion, distrust and apathy.
Nonverbal communication is a natural, mostly unconscious language that conveys your true feelings and intentions in any given moment, and clues you in to the feelings and behaviour of other people.
