Light is a vitally important physical resource for all living beings. Aside from providing us with vision, light is inherently connected to all life, which we describe as photobiological phenomena. While human beings have always had this integral relationship with light, our significant understanding of its properties and behavior only started a few centuries ago, after which the major discoveries unfurled in steps.
