SBC Deployment Models
Chapter 1, “Laying the Groundwork,” outlines the fundamentals of multimedia communications protocols and also explores some of the basic capabilities of session border controllers (SBCs). This chapter covers some of the common deployment types and options for SBCs to further support the decision of whether an SBC is useful or required for a deployment.
Once it has been determined that an SBC should be deployed in an environment, an organization can follow several implementation strategies to support the various needs of features, availability, hardware, and scalability.
