Factors affecting the tensile properties of concrete
H.W. Reinhardt, University of Stuttgart, Germany
Abstract:
This chapter reviews various influences that affect the tensile strength of concrete. These influences include composition (e.g. type of aggregate and water cement ratio), age and curing, as well as environmental effects such as sustained loading. The chapter also looks at what testing shows about such properties as stress-deformation behavior.
