Iris Biometric Data Indexing

Iris biometric-based identification system deals with high dimensional complex features. Hence, the searching with these features makes the identification process extremely slow as well as increases the false acceptance rate beyond an acceptable range. To improve the efficiency of an iris-based identification system, an indexing mechanism has been proposed. In this chapter, the indexing technique with low dimensional feature vector for an iris-based biometric identification system is described. The method is based on the iris texture features.
