49Tele-Seminars (now Webinars)

Back in 2009, people used to do webinars on their phones! And most of the phones were tethered to their walls and desks! We just blew every Millennial's mind, didn't we? You would call into the webinar and be able to hear people talking. At first, there weren't even any videos to watch or anything, but as technology progressed there were slides on your computer that you could watch while listening.

Today webinars are pretty awesome if you ask us, and only partially because we can do them from home and Scott doesn't need to wear pants. They are a great way to access content from speakers you might not be able to travel to see, and to spread the word about your business by providing extra value to your customers and subscribers. Although webinars can't take the place of physically being at a conference, they can certainly provide learning opportunities with minimal effort at maximum scalability.

Even though the technology has changed, what makes a webinar effective hasn't. The following chapter was in the first version of UnMarketing. All we've done is change the word tele-seminar to webinar. Everything has changed and nothing is different.

Once you have started to build a platform and a following, a great way to further position yourself as an expert is by doing webinars.
