REASON AND EMOTION
Within an Enlightenment tradition we inherit a view of knowledge as ‘objective’ and it is through a faculty of reason, sharply demarcated from nature, that we strive for objectivity. Within this vision reason is sovereign and the source of knowledge. It is because reason is a universal faculty that it can yield us objective and impartial knowledge. It is the task of reason to discern the laws that govern the empirical world of nature.
