Now for the best option: the intervalometer. Using an intervalometer is a tad more complicated and time consuming but the payoff is worth it. If you’re new to an intervalometer, it is an external device that lets you take exposures longer than the 30 seconds your camera is restricted to.
Tip
If you don’t have an intervalometer, both Apple and Android have intervalometer apps. You just need to buy a cable to hook it up to your DSLR.
