12.1Introduction

For urban areas with very high buildings, the traditional method is not capable of orthorectifying the relief displacements caused by high buildings. Therefore, a so-called true orthoimage map (TOM) generation method was presented by a few researchers, such as Amhar et al. (1998), Rau et al. (2002), Nielsen (2004), Biason et al. (2004), Mayr (2002), Palà and Arbiol (2002), Siachalou (2004), Habib et al. (2006), Zhou et al. (2005), Sheng et al. (2003) and Xie and Zhou (2006).
