Defense Acquisition Teamwork: Roles, Responsibilities, and More

A team is a group of people working together for a common goal. A U.S. defense acquisition team includes members of various functional organizations—buyer, seller (prime contractor), and supply-chain partners (subcontractors)—working together to achieve common U.S. military goals. Today, defense acquisition teams are typically called integrated solution teams, or integrated project teams (IPTs). The IPTs share responsibility, authority and resources to achieve their collective missions. Teamwork is demonstrated by effective, open, and honest communication daily.
