Chapter 1. A Brief Introduction to Use-Case Modeling
The purpose of this chapter is to introduce use-case modeling and why you would want to use it. It provides a concise overview of the basic concepts employed in use-case modeling, describes how these concepts are related to more traditional requirements-capture techniques, and describes why use cases provide a superior way to capture and understand the behavior of a system. The intent is to provide people who may be unfamiliar with use-case modeling with a brief overview of the use-case approach without getting too embroiled in lots of detail. We will return to these concepts for a more in-depth look in Chapter 2, Fundamentals of Use-Case Modeling.
