Interactions

Interactions are the basic building blocks of a journey map. To ease communication, we mostly map pages or views as interactions on a journey map, instead of atomic interactions, such as clicking on a button or filling an input.

As UX design conventions go, we use rectangles for visually representing the interactions. The Rectangle Tool (  ) will be useful here. Just click where you want to draw the rectangle, then drag to adjust its size.

Holding the Space key before finishing the shape allows you to move the rectangle around. This trick works with all the line and shape tools in Illustrator.
