8.6 Delay Analysis reports
Delay Analysis reports are simple reports that indicate where your application is waiting. They
are not prepared by default and must be requested by selecting the field on the Default
sampling parameters panel, or by selecting the field on another panel where there is an
override (such as the Analyze a Specified Job panel).
A Delay Analysis report is available if the word Yes appears in pale blue text under in the Dly
Rpts column of the Active Monitor Sessions panel. A Delay Analysis report is viewed by
placing the cursor on Yes and pressing the Enter key as shown in Figure 8-16.

Figure 8-17 shows a sample Delay Analysis report. A developer could use the offsets
provided, along with a listing to determine if the code could be restructured to minimize or
reblock the CPU waits that are occurring.
