Customizing Workflows
As mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, Podcast Producer is a very complicated service. You might be wondering why it didn’t seem so complicated so far. The reason is that Apple has made an extremely vanilla version of Podcast Producer that is configured when using the Server application in conjunction with the Podcast Publisher tool. But you can do much, much more. Some of these additional features include watermarking, adding titles, merging videos, extracting audio, and distributed rendering to help push some of the processing power of moving all those pixels around to other computers.

The same prerequisites apply to Podcast Producer when set up in this fashion that pertained to Podcast Producer when set up using the easier method earlier.
To get started, we’re going to perform a new installation of Podcast Producer. Because we added the service to the Server Admin sidebar earlier in this chapter, we can now access Podcast Producer by clicking on its icon from within Server Admin. Once open, click on the Configure Podcast Producer… icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
At the Podcast Producer Setup Assistant, click on Continue at the Introduction screen and the assistant will read the Podcast Producer settings. At the Express or Standard screen, click on Express Setup and then click on the Continue button.
