Evaluating ROI and TCO
Organizations require a good understanding of the costs and benefits associated with BI adoption and where OS fits within the perspective of return on investment (ROI), total cost of ownership (TCO), and how it compares with other types of BI offerings. In addition, companies need to justify these numbers to project sponsors and management. How organizations do this on an individual basis may differ due to the fact that companies evaluate what is valuable within software evaluations and how applications fit in a way that ties into their company value, not based on an industry-wide standard.
