Now that we’ve had a much closer look at the SELECT command, you’ve seen most of the core
SQL language. The next chapter will take a more detailed look at database
design. This will help you lay out your tables and data in a way that
reinforces the strengths of the database system. Understanding some of the
core design ideas should also make it more clear why SELECT works the way it does.
