Part 2 Scenarios
In Part 2 we define problems and their solutions and then demonstrate, step-by-step, how to
apply these TCP/IP protocols to solve the problems. In some cases our scenarios will be
simple and will encompass just a single function. But, as the scenarios get more and more
complex the solutions will start to include a mixture of functions that will interoperate and rely
upon each other.
Each scenario in this part will follow a similar style:
򐂰 Problem definition: We define the problem from the customers point of view. A network
diagram will allow you to quickly match our scenario with your existing network (or subnet).
Scenarios can be built upon other scenarios, so that the problem solved in one scenario
could be used as the basis for the next scenario.
򐂰 Solution definition: We define the solution.
򐂰 How to: Step-by-step instructions showing you how to implement the solution.
Before you attempt to re-create the scenario environment make sure you have all the
necessary hardware and software as is defined in the scenario.
