Overview of Institutional Contexts and Empirical Methods

This chapter comprises two main parts. The first part of this chapter provides an overview of international differences in the institutional and legal settings in different countries around the world from which data are considered in this book. This material provides a basis for understanding potential sources for differences in venture capital and private equity markets across countries.
