Dr. Rajiv Laroia was the founder and CTO of Flarion Technologies, a mobile technology company that was sold to Qualcomm for $805 million in 2006.

Dr. Laroia became head of Lucent’s Bell Labs Digital Communications Research Department in 1997, landing what seemed a dream assignment—invent a way to put broadband internet over a wireless connection. While there, he and his team created a technology called FLASH-ODFM, a unique system for carrying the internet over wireless.
