However, we know that just sitting at the table or having access does not ensure impact, nor is it enough to rely on one’s personal relationships to have influence.

HR professionals need to be an equal partner in setting the direction for the organization and getting it moving in the right direction. Getting to the table or discussion is different from knowing what to say when the discussion starts.
