In the pages that follow, some illustrations show Mac windows, and some NT. Where there are considerable changes from version to version, or from system to system, extra illustrations are included. Features are identical unless specifically noted. For many functions and shortcuts, two keys are used; on the Mac they are the Command key (
) also known as the Apple key, and the option key (which may be marked ‘alt’). On NT, the Control key and Alt key are used (although they don’t always translate exactly).
