When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Output from Avid is normally in the form of output to tape (Digital Cut) or an EDL (Edit Decision List) to transfer the information about the edit to a conventional online tape suite. Other methods of output or export are available: OMFI (Open Media Framework Interchange), Quicktime, and various graphic and text formats.
Digital Cut
Outputting to tape for a broadcast master may be the ultimate goal of the editing process, or the tape dump may merely be a low resolution reference copy with timecode or a VHS tape for assessment by a producer or director.
Assuming that the tape copy is to be of high quality, check that all the audio levels are OK and that the video levels are within limits. It may then be necessary to put colour bars, ...
