Editing: Beyond the Basics

Editing a video in Premiere Pro is a straightforward process that you can learn in an afternoon. The art of editing, however, can take much longer to learn. Beyond the mechanics of which clip goes where and syncing video and audio tracks, the artistic side of editing involves adding more visual variety to keep the viewer engaged. For instance, you can control the pace of your story by speeding up and slowing down specific clips. You can even add motion graphics to your project without having to move into Adobe After Effects. All this and more adds a professional polish.
