Chapter 10. Constructing Banner Ads and Captioned Videos
Most of the examples in this book use the FLVPlayback components for the heavy lifting of creating server connections, loading video files, and controlling playback. Some projects, though, require less overhead for video playback, such as a Web site banner ad featuring a short video clip. In the first half of this chapter, you’ll learn how to build a simple yet effective video banner ad without using components. You’ll also learn how to add simple captions below the video area in the banner. In the second half of the chapter, you’ll continue to learn how to caption video with the AS3 FLVPlaybackCaptioning component that ships with Adobe Flash CS4 Professional.
