Cyan's Myst, first released in 1993 for the Apple Macintosh and later for the PC and countless other platforms, is one of the most influential adventure games ever made. It was so financially successful, in fact, that it helped spur the widespread adoption of CD-ROM technology, a critical development that changed the surface of the computer gaming industry.
