Chapter 11. Makers and Burners

James, Brian, Byrd, and the documentary crew head to San Mateo, California to attend the 2012 Bay Area Maker Faire. Amid a dizzying collection of makers, hackers, builders, and steampunks, James chats with two significant figures in his journey from the desert of Burning Man to the parlors of steampunk. Toward the end, he stumbles upon an unexpected space-time portal from which steampunk might just have sprung.
