Goal
To acquaint attendees with one another and build a warm and friendly climate.
How to Conduct
1. Ask each participant to send a chat to the group, including his name and five words or brief phrases that identify something about him that can be a conversation starter. These may include something about where he lives (e.g., state, desert, mountains, coast, ranch), his hobbies, his pets, and other such information. Allow 5 minutes.
A sample entry is
Joel Gendelman: (1) Colorado, (2) foothills, (3) swing dancer, (4) owns two mastiffs, and (5) rides horses.
