I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Usenet Newsgroups
There are many Usenet newsgroups that may contain articles on VPNs and VPN products. We’ve come up with a list of groups that contain discussions about VPNs:
- comp.dcom.sys.cisco
This group often contains discussions about L2F, L2TP, and the PIX firewall.
- comp.security.firewalls
A group where many VPN announcements and articles are posted; it’s also a great place for firewall information in general.
- comp.os.ms-windows.networking.ras, microsoft.public.windowsnt.protocol.ras, and microsoft.public.windowsnt.steelhead
All of these newsgroups have regular discussions of Microsoft VPN products.
- comp.protocols.tcp-ip
This group sometimes contains articles relating to VPNs, tunneling, and IPSec.
- sci.crypt
A newsgroup that deals specifically with cryptography issues.
