Scripting Tips and Tricks for Automation

There are lots of different types of scripting. Some scripting languages are more robust, like Perl, Python, and Ruby, and are used to create entire software suites, add-ons, and more. Others are primarily for automation of tasks, such as those used for Windows and Linux shell scripting. Then there are purpose-built scripting platforms that perform particular functions for vendor products, such as the VMware vSphere CLI. There are many ways scripts can make virtualization administrators lives much simpler in general.
