The topic of data protection is one that makes people cringe even though we all have to endure the task of having a solid backup or, more important, a solid recovery solution. The fact that you’re moving everything off physical hardware and into, basically, files on disk would make it appear as though backups are as easy as just copying those files from disk to some other media and shipping it off-site for a period of time.
