So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 9. Architecting for Availability: Choosing the Right Solution
There are many choices when it comes to protecting your database, but the database is not the only application to consider. Too often individuals become too focused on a technology and not a solution. This chapter will not provide a “silver bullet solution” for database availability. The goal of this chapter, and the philosophy of the authors, is to provide the right solution for the right use case based on customer discussions. Although there are many “right” solutions, it is important to design the right solution for the right use case.
