active participant role
The participants are processing what they hear and explaining it to others; they are brainstorming and evaluating; they are actively thinking about what they've heard from the stage and how it fits into the context of their own work and role, and they are sharing those thoughts with their peers.
contributing participant role
When the content of a participant's active conversations is somehow informing the group.
convergence
Integrating the thinking, experience, and passion of a broad range of people to create a mutual way forward.
