Manager or leader?

Having considered some of the theoretical aspects of organisational theory and its implications, where then does that leave the ‘leader’ or ‘manager’, the person held responsible for providing information to users in an organisation? What makes a leader and why is visionary leadership a goal?

Towards the close of the last chapter the theory of charismatic and transformational leadership was briefly presented. In essence this view of leadership sums up much of the theoretical material in that chapter and provides the basis for the more practical considerations in this one.
