An important part of any good application is the user interface or UI. After all, this is what the user of your application sees and works with. To the user, the visual aspects of the application represent the entire application. They do not necessarily have interest in understanding the underpinnings of the application nor should they need to care. Users are happy if they can accomplish their task using the graphical interface that the application presents.
