Chapter 12. Database Standards

Most Visual Basic applications manage important user data in one form or another. Generally, this data is stored in some sort of database system, either in relational data-base systems such as Oracle, multi-value database systems such as PICK, proprietary database formats such as Microsoft Exchange, or more simple data storage formats, such as text files and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Wherever the data is stored, the user demands that the data be accurate, stable, and presented in a meaningful way. Such is the craft of the professional Visual Basic developer.
