Chapter 9. Process Flow

I have decided to prepare a fancy meal for my family at the holidays. I want to prepare my menu ahead of time so I can shop for groceries the day before. I have to make a decision whether to buy beef or fish for the main meal. If I want fish, I need to go to the fish market in addition to the grocery store. If I decide on beef, I can get it at the same store as the rest of the groceries. On the night of the meal, I will set up my formal dining room for dinner, prepare the food ahead of time, serve drinks before we eat, and serve three courses—salad, main meal, and dessert.
