Introduction
Windows 7, the successor to Windows Vista, is the latest Microsoft operating system for PC users at home, work, and school. In creating Windows 7, Microsoft put special effort into fixing the (real or perceived) shortcomings of Vista and giving longtime Windows XP users a reason to upgrade.
Windows 7 is a small technological upgrade from Vista—it works with all Vista-compatible programs and hardware—but it performs better, feels snappier and more polished, and has a much-improved user interface and networking features.
