7. Managing Change

THIS CHAPTER EXPLAINS the basic concept of version control and introduces the essential terminology you must know when using tools designed to help you manage and control a shared set of project files. Therefore, all readers, regardless of their background, should be able to understand the purpose of the features provided by the Team Foundation Version Control (TFVC) system that are summarized at the end of the chapter. In subsequent chapters, we will build upon this information to explain how a small Agile team can make good use of the TFVC tool when implementing version control for its project.
